East Midlands, 28th July, 2021

After a night in a hotel at the airport, I arrived back at Diseworth Lane at 0948 and was delighted to get a 'front row' place to watch the day's action shortly after arriving.

The Kalitta 747 looked pretty amazing as it left for Los Angeles:

Things got pretty quiet over lunchtime and the afternoon, but G-THFC arrived from RAF Marham with Prince Charles on board, leaving later for Inverness: 

Blue Islands ATR G-ISLM arrived from Jersey:

Several corporate aircraft came and went - this Indian registered Global was the most exotic, but it only went as far as Luton! 

As the afternoon became evening, the freight operation slowly kicked into gear. LZ-CGS had daystopped, it left for Bergamo: 

Thunderstorms had been forecast - luckily, they avoided the airport, but a few claps of thunder were heard, and lightening was seen. The cloud formations were pretty impressive as well - as it must have been a turbulent arrival for many flights!

Amid the cargo flights, Easyjet arrived on their new service from Belfast International:

As the evening became night, TUI 787-9 G-TUIO arrived on a cargo flight from Miami:

The Cargologic 747 that had gone tech the previous night had obviously been fixed, as it left just before 10pm:

It was amazing how many people were still around, watching the aircraft when I left after an absolutely legendary session at 22:08!
