RAF Lakenheath, 15th March 2022

After my day at Mildenhall, it was an early start the next day to get to Lakenheath in time to get a good place in the car park and to make sure that I was there before operations started for the day. 

I arrived at 0705, and had a half hour wait before the first aircraft appeared, an F-15C - while I always preferred the Strike Eagle variant, with these aircraft due to depart imminently back to the US, I was pleased to several over the course of the day:

The stars at Lakenheath are the Lightnings, and I was lucky enough to see several: 

The reason for my visit though was to see a deployment of Fighting Falcons from Aviano - they kept the many spotters in the car park waiting, but when they came out, they did so in numbers:
