East Midlands, 16th August, 2017

After my visit to Stansted, I drove up to East Midlands. A good journey, but heavy traffic on the M1 meant I arrived a little later than scheduled. 

After checking into my digs, it was straight up to the airport, and a very enjoyable evening watching the sunset and the freighters come in.UPS 767s have been visiting the airport for many years now:

I'm old enough to remember the Air Atlantique Dakotas at East Midlands, but the company - or its West Atlantic successor - now sends several 737s each evening:

It was an enjoyable evening, even if nothing could compete with the earlier excitement of Stansted. Here is the log:
