London Stansted, 16th August 2017

London Stansted may be the capital's third airport, but it always scores highly for interesting aircraft. A Wednesday lunchtime visit didn't disappoint, with several interesting visitors.

Stansted is Air Moldova's only UK destination:

While Luton has the reputation as the place to go to for business aviation in the UK, Stansted has a thriving biz jet side - no corporate aircraft come larger than the Dubai Air Wing's 747-400 A6-COM, last seen by me in Singapore:

There is strong freight community at Stansted as well.Atlas 747-400 N408MC was a very welcome visitor:

But this was eclipsed by Turkmenistan IL-76 EZ-F426. The visit of the Ilyushin was well publicised, and although it was a weekday, it had attracted a large crowd to the airport:

There were two military visitors as well. The Nigerian Air Force's 737 5N-FGT was parked at the VIP terminal:

While Qartari Air Force C-17 MAO was trying to hide in the trees:

An absolutely brilliant visit to the airport. After the Turkmenistan departed, I left for the drive upto East Midlands, extremely satisfied with my haul:
